Fragrance Buying Guide

Choosing fragrance online is easier when you know how to read scent families, product types, notes, strength expectations and occasion cues. This guide helps Soghaat customers shop with more confidence before checkout.

Fragrance is personal, so this page is guidance rather than a guarantee. Scent, projection and longevity can vary by skin type, weather, storage, application and personal preference.

Scent Style

Start with the Fragrance Family

Fresh and citrus

Often clean, bright and easy to wear in daytime, warmer weather or work settings.

Oud and woody

Usually deeper, warmer and richer, often chosen for evenings, winter, gifting and special occasions.

Amber and oriental

Typically warm, resinous, spicy or sweet, with a more luxurious and enveloping character.

Floral

Can range from soft and elegant to rich and romantic, depending on rose, jasmine, white florals or powdery notes.

Musk and soft scents

Often clean, smooth and close-wearing, popular for everyday use and subtle fragrance preferences.

Sweet and gourmand

May include vanilla, caramel, chocolate, fruits or dessert-like notes for a warmer, playful character.

Product Type

Spray Perfume, Attar, Bakhoor or Gift Set?

Different product types suit different routines. A spray perfume is easy to apply across clothing or pulse points where suitable. An attar or perfume oil is usually applied in smaller amounts and can feel more concentrated. Bakhoor and incense are for home fragrance and should be used safely with suitable burners and ventilation.

  • Choose spray perfumes for everyday convenience and broader scent projection.
  • Choose attars or perfume oils if you prefer oil application and concentrated use.
  • Choose gift sets when presentation matters or when buying for Eid, weddings, birthdays or special occasions.
  • Choose bakhoor or incense for room fragrance, not direct skin application.
  • Always read safety information and product packaging before use.
Expectations

Longevity, Projection & Skin Chemistry

No fragrance performs exactly the same for every person. The same genuine perfume can smell stronger, softer, sweeter, fresher or longer-lasting depending on skin chemistry, climate, humidity, storage, application amount and where it is applied.

Longevity

How long a scent remains noticeable. This can vary from person to person and is not proof of authenticity by itself.

Projection

How far a scent travels from the wearer. Some fragrances are designed to be subtle; others are more noticeable.

Dry down

The way a fragrance changes after opening notes fade. Many perfumes smell different after 20-60 minutes.

If you are sensitive to fragrance ingredients, read our Fragrance Safety & Allergy Advice before purchasing.

Inspired Fragrances

Understanding Inspired-By Descriptions

Some products may be described using inspiration or scent-style references to help customers understand the character of the fragrance. This does not mean the product is officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or identical to any designer fragrance.

Use inspired-by wording as a guide to scent direction, not as a promise that the product will smell exactly the same, perform the same or replace the original fragrance in every detail.

Before Checkout

A Simple Buying Checklist

  • Read the product title, size, brand, scent notes and product type carefully.
  • Check whether the fragrance is spray, oil, attar, deodorant, bakhoor, incense or a gift set.
  • Think about the occasion: daily wear, work, evening, gifting, prayer, Eid, wedding or home fragrance.
  • Review delivery and returns information before opening or testing a product.
  • Remember that opened, used, tested, sprayed or resealed fragrance products are usually not returnable due to scent preference.
